Job Requirements
- One year of previous experience working in an institutional/health care housekeeping environment, preferred
- Ability to communicate at a basic level, orally and in writing, in English
- Ability to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents and calculate linen and supplies needed for work assignment
- Ability to work independently, without direct supervision
- Able to meet physical demands of position: Push and pull carts and equipment, up to 100 lbs, occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Able to use necessary cleaning equipment including: carpet cleaning equipment, wet and dry vacuum
- Able to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents
- Able to calculate the amount of linen and supplies needed for work assignment
- Able to pass background checks for a licensed community
- Able to wear personal protective equipment including masks and gloves as required by the CDC
Job Qualifications
- One year of previous experience working in an institutional/health care housekeeping environment, preferred
- Basic oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently without direct supervision
- Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the CDC
- Ability to use cleaning equipment including carpet cleaning equipment, wet and dry vacuum
- Ability to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents
- Ability to calculate linen and supplies needed for work assignment
Job Duties
- Maintains public and common areas of the facility in a safe, orderly and sanitary condition
- Identify and report need for repairs, unsafe conditions and respond appropriately in emergency situations
- Work in areas occupied by patients with known infectious diseases and handle and transport infectious waste
- Clean interior and exterior windows on a scheduled basis
- Conduct routine inspections of own area of assignment to ensure that departmental quality standards are achieved and maintained
