Job Requirements

  • One year of previous experience working in an institutional/health care housekeeping environment, preferred
  • Ability to communicate at a basic level, orally and in writing, in English
  • Ability to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents and calculate linen and supplies needed for work assignment
  • Ability to work independently, without direct supervision
  • Able to meet physical demands of position: Push and pull carts and equipment, up to 100 lbs, occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Able to use necessary cleaning equipment including: carpet cleaning equipment, wet and dry vacuum
  • Able to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents
  • Able to calculate the amount of linen and supplies needed for work assignment
  • Able to pass background checks for a licensed community
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment including masks and gloves as required by the CDC

Job Qualifications

  • One year of previous experience working in an institutional/health care housekeeping environment, preferred
  • Basic oral and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and ability to wear personal protective equipment as required by the CDC
  • Ability to use cleaning equipment including carpet cleaning equipment, wet and dry vacuum
  • Ability to measure and proportion cleaning chemicals and solvents
  • Ability to calculate linen and supplies needed for work assignment

Job Duties

  • Maintains public and common areas of the facility in a safe, orderly and sanitary condition
  • Identify and report need for repairs, unsafe conditions and respond appropriately in emergency situations
  • Work in areas occupied by patients with known infectious diseases and handle and transport infectious waste
  • Clean interior and exterior windows on a scheduled basis
  • Conduct routine inspections of own area of assignment to ensure that departmental quality standards are achieved and maintained
