Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of five years of food service supervisory experience in a senior living or acute care setting
- Certified food protection manager (CFPM) certificate as required
- Valid Arizona fingerprint clearance card or ability to obtain one
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and lead a team effectively
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of five years of food service supervisory experience in a senior living setting or acute care environment
- Certified food protection manager (CFPM) certificate per Maricopa County Food Code requirements
- Arizona fingerprint clearance card or willingness to obtain one
- Effective communication skills with residents families visitors peers supervisors and subordinates
- Skilled in interpreting and explaining menu options managing dietary requests and preferences
- Availability to work five days a week including some weekends and occasional holidays with holiday pay
Job Duties
- Resident and family interaction including reviewing new admissions engaging with current residents their families and visitors acquiring pertinent information regarding menus dining preferences and other related matters
- Staff supervision ensuring all employees follow procedures complete training timely and fulfill cleaning duties
- Step into various roles as needed to meet operational demands demonstrating leadership by setting a positive example for the team
- Participate in weekly leadership meetings and monthly department meetings presenting rotating topics
- Operational oversight including completing multiple rounds daily ensuring residents staff and visitors receive exceptional customer service
- Support Life Service staff by ensuring timely delivery of all food requests
- Initiate maintenance requests and communicate with supporting departments as needed to maintain operations
- Participate in menu creation and planning to meet the needs and preferences of residents
- Conduct new hire training instruct demonstrating and observing staff completing retraining and cross-training where applicable
- Monitor staff compliance regarding absences lateness and adherence to company policies
- Participate in regulatory surveys county inspections mock inspections and assist with corrections and new implementations
- Assist with inventory and supply management including food and supply requisitions maintaining PAR values tallying monthly inventory and ensuring emergency supplies are available
