Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field or four years of relevant experience
  • Eight years of experience in health and safety management
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and other occupational health and safety standards
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the Southeast region
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to independently travel and be present at office or client sites
  • Minimum OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety Course preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field or four years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Eight years of experience in health and safety management
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and other relevant occupational health and safety standards
  • Preferred certifications such as OHST, CHST, ASP, GSP, CSP, CIH
  • Ability to analyze data and identify areas for improvement
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in diverse teams
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and pay close attention to detail
  • Technical writing and presentation skills
  • Experience developing, facilitating, and performing safety trainings
  • Familiarity with ISNetWorld and Avetta prequalification systems
  • Knowledge of business continuity programs related to natural disasters and pandemics
  • OSHA Authorized Trainer for 10-hour/30-hour Construction Health & Safety

Job Duties

  • Develop, implement, and monitor the firm’s occupational health and safety management system
  • Oversee the administration of the Regional Occupational Medical Monitoring Program
  • Manage and oversee the activities of the Regional Safety Coordinators including leading bi-monthly meetings
  • Monitor compliance with applicable regulations
  • Maintain third-party safety requirements including Federal, State, Local agencies, and client-specific requirements
  • Conduct field hazard assessments and prepare reports
  • Develop and facilitate safety training for employees
  • Aid in the investigation of workplace incidents
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels
  • Research federal regulations and safety standards to develop compliance strategies
  • Conduct workstation and ergonomic assessments
  • Collaborate with other functional areas such as Legal, HR, and Insurance departments on safety matters
