Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven culinary experience in sushi preparation
  • Supervisory experience in a culinary environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 100 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of culinary experience preferably as a sushi chef in a similar sized operation
  • Supervisory experience essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • Ability to plan and develop menus and recipes
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
  • Physical ability to perform kitchen duties including lifting up to 100 pounds

Job Duties

  • Lead and manage the kitchen team
  • Ensure all sushi menu items are prepared to the highest quality standards
  • Maintain compliance with food handling and storage guidelines
  • Mentor and coach culinary staff
  • Oversee culinary equipment maintenance and inventory control
  • Manage vacation schedules to ensure appropriate staffing
  • Support special events such as VIP parties and staff meetings
