Job Requirements
- must be at least 16 years of age
- ability to read and complete necessary paperwork in English
- excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- high school diploma or GED strongly encouraged
- must obtain First Aid and CPR Certification within 90 days of hire and maintain certification
- reliable and punctual
- ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively
- physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks
- commitment to food safety and sanitation policies
- understanding of and ability to follow health department regulations
Job Qualifications
- at least 16 years of age
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- ability to read and complete necessary paperwork in English

- basic understanding of food preparation and safety protocols
- ability to follow standardized recipes and menus
- able to adapt to different dietary needs
- ability to maintain accurate records

- awareness of sanitation standards and safety regulations
Job Duties
- assist in preparation of pre-approved meals and snacks for meal service
- follow pre-approved menus and use standardized recipes while cooking
- make substitutions of menu items only if absolutely necessary and document substitutions
- adapt menu to meet dietary requirements of children with special needs under guidance
- monitor plate waste and report results
- assist with purchases within budgetary guidelines as directed
- return damaged goods to distributor
- assist in making appropriate substitutions for infant and toddlers when food selection is not age appropriate
- record number of meals and snacks served daily
- complete a production record for each meal daily
- record food temperatures for each food item daily
- record refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily
- maintain an inventory of all equipment and material
- complete fiscal paperwork on a timely basis as necessary
- assist in preparing monthly food service report
- maintain high standards of sanitation in food preparation, service, and storage
- prepare meals according to state health department sanitation standards
- utilize correct operating, cleaning, sanitizing, and safety procedures of kitchen equipment
- follow agency and regulatory information and ensure necessary postings are visible
- use and store food on a first in/first out basis
- notify appropriate person of malfunctioning or broken equipment and supplies
- discuss safety concerns with supervisor in timely fashion
- obtain and maintain First Aid and CPR Certification
