Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Minimum five years experience as Assistant Golf Professional at a recognized golf club
  • Membership in good standing with PGA of America and/or LPGA T&CP
  • Enrollment in PGA PGM program Level 2 or higher
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of GHIN, TPP, Jonas, ForeTees, and Flight Scope
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage and supervise staff
  • Ability to enforce club rules and regulations
  • Experience in golf instruction and tournament management
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and strong customer service orientation

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of five years experience as an Assistant Golf Professional at a recognized golf club
  • Membership in good standing with PGA of America and/or LPGA T&CP
  • Currently enrolled in PGA PGM program Level 2 or higher
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Publisher, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Canva)
  • Knowledge of GHIN, TPP, Jonas, ForeTees, and Flight Scope software
  • Strong communication and diplomatic skills
  • Ability to supervise and manage staff effectively
  • Fundamental golf instruction skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning abilities
  • Positive attitude focused on customer service
  • Uphold strong personal and professional values

Job Duties

  • Manage Assistant Golf Professionals, Golf Shop Associates and Starter
  • Provide recommendations on hiring, firing, promotion, and evaluation of employees
  • Oversee golf functions and events
  • Coordinate golf activities with the Director of Golf
  • Enforce club rules and regulations for golf course and facilities
  • Provide group and individual golf instruction
  • Organize and run tournaments for men, women, and mixed groups
  • Work with LGA and 9-LGA golf associations and committees
  • Create and manage daily play register using ForeTees
  • Assist and train counter staff on operational procedures
  • Manage USGA handicap system (GHIN) accurately
  • Oversee inventory levels of golf shop supplies
  • Assist members and guests with interpreting golf rules and policies
  • Perform fundamental club repair services
  • Participate in golf games with members
  • Play in PGA Chapter and Sectional Tournaments
  • Recommend staffing changes and ensure compliance with HR policies
  • Ensure department operations comply with local, state and federal laws
