Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- previous experience as Custodian I or similar role
- valid certification or license if applicable
- ability to perform physical custodial tasks
- availability to work the 1st shift from 2:30 PM to 10:30 PM
- ability to submit required application documents including letter of interest, resume, and letters of recommendation
- membership in bargaining unit if currently a custodian
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- experience as Custodian I or comparable position
- demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities
- supervisory experience preferred
- knowledge of maintenance and custodial procedures
- ability to work independently and lead a team
- understanding of safety regulations and procedures
- good communication skills
Job Duties
- Helps in the selection, assignment, scheduling, and training of custodial staff
- plans and oversees all maintenance and repair work maintaining high standards of safety and cleanliness
- maintains inventory and recommends purchase of supplies, tools and equipment
- supervises Custodian I staff
- regulates heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems
- performs general custodial duties including cleaning, waxing, polishing, and sanitizing
- maintains exterior grounds including snow removal, grass cutting and litter control
- performs minor building repairs and reports major repairs
- secures building openings and closings
- maintains fire safety equipment and files repair reports
