Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent education
  • any combination of experience and training to perform custodial duties
  • valid driver's license
  • pre-employment drug screen
  • background check
  • ability to use custodial equipment and tools safely
  • ability to work independently
  • ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds frequently and over 100 pounds occasionally
  • ability to communicate effectively
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • ability to maintain positive work relationships

Job Qualifications

  • Any combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge and experience to perform the duties of the position
  • high school diploma or equivalent education
  • working knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in custodial services
  • ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely
  • ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
  • ability to communicate orally and in writing
  • ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions
  • ability to establish effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the public

Job Duties

  • Perform positive interactions with guests and other employees
  • sweep, vacuum, mop, dust, strip, wax, polish and buff floors
  • clean carpets and furniture
  • wash windows, walls, metal and woodwork
  • clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies
  • clean spills, drinking fountains, mirrors, tables, fixtures, blinds, light fixtures
  • pick up litter from grounds and around the building
  • dump garbage and reline garbage cans with liners
  • inspect and maintain assigned custodial equipment and tools for proper operating condition
  • assist Superintendent III with monthly facility inspections and repair requests
  • open, close, lock and unlock facilities as needed
  • keep records of completed daily work
