Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • culinary degree or certificate preferred
  • 3 years of professional cooking experience including 1-2 years in a supervisory or lead role
  • strong knowledge of cooking techniques, menu execution, and food presentation
  • proven experience with kitchen operations including prep, line, inventory, and ordering
  • solid understanding of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards

  • Supervises and assists in the preparation and cooking of food
  • supervises the cleaning of kitchen equipment
  • supervises and assists in the preparation and cooking of meats, vegetables, and soups
  • supervises and assists in the preparation of baked goods, beverages, cereals, desserts, and salads
  • instructs employees engaged in kitchen activities
  • checks ovens and food carts
  • tags and delivers food carts to dining rooms
  • checks food in storage
  • maintains food records
  • handles supplies
  • prepares mandated menus according to nutritional guidelines
  • oversees food preparation and sanitation processes
  • prepares meals for camp participants daily
  • supervises and coordinates daily kitchen staff activities
  • maintains cleanliness and organization of kitchen, equipment, and storage areas
  • monitors food quality, taste, appearance, and temperature
  • orders food, supplies, and equipment
  • maintains inventory levels and minimizes waste
  • receives and inspects deliveries for quality and accuracy
  • accommodates special dietary needs and allergies
  • enforces safe work practices and proper equipment use
  • addresses and resolves operational issues
  • communicates with management regarding staffing, supplies, and operations
