Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- vocational or technical training in cooking or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- ServSafe Food Safety Certification required

Job Duties
- Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff
- develops and oversees employee work schedules
- compiles and reviews timesheets
- approves and processes employee concerns and problems
- counsels or disciplines as appropriate
- assists with or completes employee performance appraisals
- directs work and acts as a liaison between employees and management
- trains staff in operations, policies, and procedures
- ensures kitchens remain clean and compliant with health and safety standards
- sanitizes and cleans surfaces and equipment
- maintains cleanliness of kitchen, refrigerator, freezer, and storeroom
- reviews temperature logs
- insures proper storage of food and supplies
- maintains certificates and permits
- oversees equipment maintenance and repair
- participates in daily opening and closing of kitchen
- plans balanced menus for weekly meals and special events
- orders food and supplies within budget
- maintains records of food and supplies in stock
- completes food usage reports
- verifies invoices and packing slips
- prepares and serves breakfasts, snacks, lunches, and special diet items
- performs food preparation tasks including chopping, slicing, mixing, measuring, and cooking
- insures proper cooking techniques and food safety guidelines are followed
- operates kitchen equipment safely
- inspects food quality and temperature
- operates cash register
- receives payments and counts cash drawer
- records money received and completes income reports
- performs other related duties as required
