Job Requirements

  • Five years of experience in commercial cooking
  • Apprenticeship or graduation from an accredited culinary school
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations including HACCP
  • Good communication skills
  • Service orientation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows-based applications
  • Arabic speaking preferred

Job Qualifications

  • Five years of experience in commercial cooking
  • Apprenticeship or graduation from an accredited culinary school
  • Additional certifications such as diet chef, industrial chef, or design chef preferred
  • Certification with the American Culinary Federation a plus
  • Knowledge of food and hygiene regulations including HACCP
  • Good communication and organizational skills
  • Service orientation
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications
  • Arabic speaking preferred

Job Duties

  • Support and oversee all hot and cold kitchen food production activities within the assigned CSC
  • Identify inventory or production variances and initiate timely corrective actions
  • Assist with managing and adjusting production plans including forecasting food quantities and resource allocation
  • Ensure strict adherence to all recipe specifications and conduct routine sensory evaluations
  • Participate in the development, testing, and refinement of new food products and menus
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef to design and update halal-compliant menus
  • Oversee preparation and cooking of halal dishes in compliance with airline catering standards
  • Ensure all ingredients, suppliers, and processes meet halal certification and airline regulatory standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audits
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all catering manuals and communicate updates
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health, and sanitation standards including HACCP
  • Monitor quality of goods received and verify proper storage and FIFO practices
  • Coordinate appropriate responses to customer complaints by identifying root causes and implementing corrective measures
  • Support cost control activities related to budget management
  • Implement and manage departmental cost budgets
  • Ensure adequate staffing and organization of kitchen operations
  • Guide, motivate, and develop kitchen employees
  • Support training strategies and development plans
  • Represent kitchen teams in external interactions
  • Research market innovations, culinary techniques, and food trends
  • Participate in menu presentations and marketing
  • Support company-wide initiatives such as GQS, HACCP, and Lean Manufacturing
