Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen setting
  • Ability to work full-time seasonally from May to mid-December
  • Strong commitment to quality and attention to detail
  • Physical stamina for demanding kitchen work
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Valid food handler certification or willingness to obtain

Job Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a chef or in a similar role within a farm-to-table or seasonal cooking environment
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety standards
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-focused kitchen
  • Menu development and creativity in recipe creation
  • Leadership skills with experience in mentoring and managing kitchen staff
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Passion for local, sustainable, and seasonal ingredients

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items using locally sourced, seasonal ingredients
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure high standards of food quality and presentation
  • Develop and refine menu offerings with creative input
  • Manage kitchen operations including inventory, ordering, and food safety compliance
  • Lead and mentor junior kitchen staff fostering a positive team environment
  • Support the launch and growth of the catering program by creating tailored menu options and efficient systems
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workspace
