Job Requirements

  • Associate degree preferred
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent
  • Combination of education and experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Ensures and executes proper preparation, cooking and plating of menu items
  • Inspects, selects, and uses only the freshest produce and food products to maintain high standards
  • Writes, maintains, and updates menu specifications, recipes, and production forecasts
  • Prepares requisitions for supplies and food items
  • Observes production flow to adhere to cost and quality control procedures
  • Ensures proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products in compliance with health regulations
  • Monitors kitchen equipment cleanliness and functionality
  • Identifies repair needs and ensures timely maintenance
  • Interviews, hires, trains, plans, assigns, directs work, evaluates performance, rewards, and disciplines kitchen staff
  • Manages department members such as Sous Chef, Cooks, Kitchen Porters, and Receivers
  • Provides effective orientation and ongoing training to staff
  • Monitors business volume forecasts and resource planning
  • Incorporates safe work practices
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance
  • Performs other duties as required
