Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- retail or grocery experience preferred
- one year cashiering experience preferred
- one year supervising experience preferred
- ability to pass required food safety training and maintain compliance
- ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- strong customer service orientation
- cashier training and currency counting proficiency
- computer literacy in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally and 10-20 lbs frequently
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- commitment to following company policies and standards
- willingness to perform hands-on tasks as needed
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- experience in retail or grocery environment preferred
- natural foods background a plus
- one year of cashiering experience preferred
- one year of supervising others preferred
- ability to pass food safety training courses and maintain certifications
- ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused
- sense of urgency in task completion
- excellent customer service skills
- highly organized with attention to detail
- ability to take direction and follow through
- must be cashier trained and able to count currency
- proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Job Duties
- Providing world class customer service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority
- exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhering to all policies
- training all cashiers and ensuring cashiers communicate about the loyalty program with customers
- completing the daily sales report (DSR) and cashier closeout responsibilities
- issuing and verifying cash drawers
- handling returns and overrides at the front end
- addressing customer complaints appropriately
- ensuring front end sets are full and well-maintained
- overseeing completion of the front end task list daily
- maintaining all registers binders
- directing cashiers to tasks during slow times at the register
- general cashiering and checkout duties including running a cash register, bagging/boxing groceries, and providing carry out service
- monitoring, assigning and performing cart checks
- answering the telephone
- assisting in managing special orders
- monitoring, assigning and grinding nut butters
- learning the location of products in all departments to direct customers
- participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock as needed
- working a schedule based on store needs including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- attending mandatory store meetings
