Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of cashiering experience
- one year of supervisory experience
- ability to pass and maintain required food safety certifications
- ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- able to lift and carry weights up to 50 lbs occasionally with team lift for heavier items
- able to use computer for data entry
- must be cashier trained and accurate with currency handling
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- experience in retail or grocery environment preferred
- natural foods background is a plus
- one year of cashiering experience preferred
- one year of supervising others preferred
- ability to pass food safety training courses and maintain certifications as required by law
- ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused
- sense of urgency in task completion
- excellent customer service skills
- highly organized with great attention to detail
- ability to take direction and follow through
- cashier trained and able to count currency
- proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Job Duties
- Providing world class customer service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority
- exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhering to all policies
- training and ensuring cashiers communicate about the customer rewards program
- notifying customers of local food bank donations for reusable bag usage
- educating customers on nutrients
- promoting store seminars and events
- completing daily sales reports and cashier closeout responsibilities
- issuing and verifying cash drawers
- handling returns and overrides at the front end
- addressing customer complaints appropriately
- ensuring front end sets are full and well maintained
- overseeing completion of the front end task list daily
- maintaining all register binders
- directing cashiers to tasks during slow register times
- performing general cashiering and checkout duties including running a cash register, bagging/boxing groceries, and providing carry out service
- monitoring, assigning, and performing cart checks
- answering the telephone
- assisting in managing special orders
- monitoring, assigning, and grinding nut butters
- learning product locations to direct customers
- participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock as needed
- working a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, holidays, five days a week totaling 40 hours
- attending mandatory store meetings
