Job Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred
- retail or grocery experience preferred
- one year of cashiering experience preferred
- one year of supervising experience preferred
- food safety training and certification compliance required
- ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- strong customer service focus
- organized and detail-oriented
- must be cashier trained and able to count currency
- proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
- ability to work required schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- reliable and punctual
- physical ability to lift and carry up to 100 lbs with team lift
- ability to stand, walk, bend, twist and reach for extended periods
- capability to work in varying environmental conditions including with tools, noise, and temperature changes
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- experience in retail environment especially grocery or natural foods preferred
- at least 1 year cashiering experience preferred
- at least 1 year supervising others preferred
- ability to pass and maintain food safety training and certifications as required by law
- adept at managing changing priorities and staying focused
- excellent customer service skills
- highly organized with great attention to detail
- ability to take direction and ensure completion of tasks
- cashier trained with ability to count currency
- proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Job Duties
- Providing World Class Customer Service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority
- exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhering to all policies
- training all cashiers and ensuring they communicate about the {N}Power program with customers
- notifying customers about donations to the local foodbank for reusable bag use
- educating customers on the Nutrient to Know About
- promoting store seminars and events
- completing the Daily Sales Report and cashier closeout responsibilities
- issuing and verifying cash drawers
- handling returns and overrides
- addressing customer complaints appropriately
- ensuring front end sets are full and well-maintained
- overseeing completion of the front end task list daily
- maintaining all registers binders
- directing cashiers to tasks during slow times
- performing general cashiering and check out duties including running a cash register, bagging/boxing groceries, and providing carry out service
- monitoring, assigning and performing cart checks
- answering the telephone
- assisting in managing special orders
- monitoring, assigning and grinding nut butters
- learning the location of products in all the departments to assist customers
- participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock as needed
- working a schedule based on store needs including evenings, weekends and holidays
- adhering to the position's limits regarding Manager on Duty responsibilities
