Job Requirements
- High school diploma GED or equivalent preferred
- experience in retail grocery or retail environment preferred
- natural foods background is a plus
- one year of cashiering experience preferred
- one year of supervising others preferred
- ability to pass food safety training courses or certifications as required by law and maintain compliance
- ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused
- sense of urgency in task completion
- excellent customer service skills
- highly organized with great attention to detail
- ability to take direction and follow through
- must be cashier trained and able to count currency
- proficient in MS Word Excel and Outlook

Job Duties
- Providing world class customer service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority
- exemplifying integrity responsibility and excellence and adhering to all policies
- training all cashiers and ensuring cashiers communicate about the NPower program with customers
- notifying customers about donations to local foodbanks for reusable bag use
- educating customers on nutritional information
- promoting store seminars and events
- completing daily sales reports and cashier closeout responsibilities
- issuing and verifying cash drawers
- handling returns and overrides at the front end
- addressing customer complaints appropriately
- ensuring that front end sets are full and well maintained
- overseeing completion of the front end task list daily
- maintaining all register binders
- directing cashiers to tasks during slow times
- performing general cashiering and check out duties including running a cash register bagging groceries and providing carry out service
- monitoring assigning and performing cart checks
- answering the telephone
- assisting in managing special orders
- monitoring assigning and grinding nut butters
- learning location of products in all departments to direct customers
- participating in tagging facing rotating cleaning markdowns stocking and backstock as needed
- working a schedule based on store needs including evenings weekends holidays
- working five days forty hours per week and attending mandatory store meetings
