Job Requirements
- high school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- at least one year of cashiering experience preferred
- at least one year of supervisory experience preferred
- ability to pass food safety training courses and maintain certifications
- excellent customer service skills
- ability to manage multiple priorities
- strong organizational skills
- ability to operate a cash register and count currency
- proficiency with MS Office applications
- ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to use fine motor skills and operate computer equipment
- willingness to perform physical tasks such as squatting, kneeling, and climbing occasionally
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- experience in retail environment, preferably grocery or natural foods
- one year of cashiering experience preferred
- one year of supervising others preferred
- ability to pass required food safety training and maintain compliance
- ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused
- sense of urgency in task completion
- excellent customer service skills
- highly organized with great attention to detail
- ability to take direction and follow through
- must be cashier trained and able to count currency
- proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Job Duties
- providing world class customer service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority
- exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhering to all policies
- training cashiers on communicating about the {N}Power program with customers, notifying customers about donations to local food banks, educating customers on nutrients, and promoting store seminars and events
- completing the daily sales report and cashier closeout responsibilities
- issuing and verifying cash drawers
- handling returns and overrides at the front end
- addressing customer complaints appropriately
- ensuring front end sets are full and well-maintained
- overseeing completion of the front end task list daily
- maintaining all registers binders
- directing cashiers to tasks during slow times
- performing general cashiering and check out duties including running a cash register, bagging/boxing groceries, and providing carry out service
- monitoring and assigning cart checks
- answering the telephone
- assisting in managing special orders
- monitoring, assigning, and grinding nut butters
- learning the location of products in all departments to direct customers
- participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock as needed
- working a schedule based on store needs including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- complying with limited Manager on Duty responsibilities but not serving as overall Manager on Duty
