Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- Experience in retail or grocery environment preferred
- At least 1 year of cashiering experience
- At least 1 year of supervising others preferred
- Ability to pass and maintain food safety certifications
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs with occasional team lifts
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods
- Required to participate in all assigned tasks
- Must handle cash and operate register accurately
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- Experience in grocery or retail environment preferred
- Natural foods background a plus
- 1 year of cashiering experience preferred
- 1 year of supervising experience preferred
- Ability to pass and maintain food safety training and certifications as required by law
- Strong ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused
- Excellent customer service skills
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and follow through
- Cashier trained and able to count currency
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
Job Duties
- Providing world class customer service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority
- Exemplifying integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhering to all policies
- Training all cashiers and ensuring communication about the NPower program, donations to the local food bank, customer education on nutrients, and promotion of events
- Completing the daily sales report and cashier closeout responsibilities
- Issuing and verifying cash drawers
- Handling returns and overrides at the front end
- Addressing customer complaints appropriately
- Ensuring the front end sets are full and well-maintained
- Overseeing completion of the front end task list daily
- Maintaining all registers binders
- Directing cashiers to tasks during slow times
- Performing general cashiering duties including running the cash register, bagging, and providing carry out service
- Monitoring and assigning cart checks
- Answering the telephone
- Assisting in managing special orders
- Monitoring and assigning grinding nut butters
- Learning product locations to help customers
- Participating in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock as needed
- Working a schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ensuring hands-on involvement in all tasks to help the company thrive
