Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating underground construction equipment such as HDD locators
- Strong work ethic
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work safely with or without supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- CDL A and tanker endorsement preferred

- Proficiency with HDD locators such as Subsite and Falcon

Job Duties
- Lead by example by promoting teamwork, safety, and professionalism on the job site
- Motivate individuals and team to create a positive and highly productive work environment
- Ensure utility locates are correct and all underground utilities are identified and located before trenching or digging
- Operate a variety of the newest horizontal directional drill locators including Subsite and Falcon
- Understand trenching, duct placement, cable pulling, and direct bury main-line and drops
- Perform restoration back to existing conditions when not locating
- Safely coordinate directional drill equipment in congested neighborhoods
- Constantly communicate with crew members
- Ensure potholes are dug and utilities are daylighted prior to crossing utilities
- Maintain accuracy in all reporting functions of directional drill shots
- Assist with safety events and monitor changing conditions
- Ensure equipment is in proper working order and systems are functioning
- Perform basic equipment upkeep and report malfunctions or repair needs
- Communicate using hand or audio signals for safe operation
- Use knowledge of various hand and power tools such as power brooms, earth tampers, concrete saws, cement mixers
