Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • must be able to obtain a Food Handlers card
  • must be able to complete HACCP training
  • ability to understand and follow instructions in English
  • ability to perform simple arithmetic
  • ability to plan and organize work
  • knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operation

Job Qualifications

  • No prior prep cook experience needed
  • ability to understand and follow instructions in English
  • communicate effectively
  • perform simple arithmetic
  • understand measurements and conversions
  • must be able to obtain a Food Handlers card
  • must be able to participate in and pass a HACCP course
  • ability to plan and organize work
  • knowledge of basic kitchen equipment operations and maintenance
  • ability to communicate with and empathize with residents, families, visitors, and coworkers

Job Duties

  • Set up breakfast, lunch, and dinner items for residents, guests, and staff
  • assist line cook in setting up service line
  • restock food items as needed
  • prepare lunch and dinner meals as ordered
  • maintain cleanliness and safety standards in food preparation areas
  • follow established food service policies and procedures
