Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Two to three years of cooking experience in hotel or restaurant environment
- Knowledge of multiple cooking methods
- Skill in using kitchen equipment
- Ability to read and communicate in English
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces and extreme temperatures
- Knowledge of sanitation and health regulations
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
- Minimum two to three years cooking experience in hotel or restaurant environment
- Good working knowledge of broiler, sauté, fry, roast, and moist heat cooking methods
- Proficiency with all kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, steamers, and kettles
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
- Basic mathematical skills for recipe measurements and portion sizes
Job Duties
- Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications to ensure product consistency
- Visually inspects and selects food items ideal for cooking preparation
- Checks and controls proper storage of products to rotate and maintain quality
- Keeps refrigeration equipment, storage, and working areas clean and compliant with health regulations
- Prepares daily requisitions for supplies and food items
- Reads and applies mathematical skills to follow recipes
