Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Two to three years of cooking experience in hotel or restaurant environment
  • Knowledge of multiple cooking methods
  • Skill in using kitchen equipment
  • Ability to read and communicate in English
  • Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces and extreme temperatures
  • Knowledge of sanitation and health regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Culinary or apprenticeship program preferred
  • Minimum two to three years cooking experience in hotel or restaurant environment
  • Good working knowledge of broiler, sauté, fry, roast, and moist heat cooking methods
  • Proficiency with all kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, steamers, and kettles
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Knowledge of accepted sanitation standards
  • Basic mathematical skills for recipe measurements and portion sizes

Job Duties

  • Prepares all food items according to standard recipes and guest specifications to ensure product consistency
  • Visually inspects and selects food items ideal for cooking preparation
  • Checks and controls proper storage of products to rotate and maintain quality
  • Keeps refrigeration equipment, storage, and working areas clean and compliant with health regulations
  • Prepares daily requisitions for supplies and food items
  • Reads and applies mathematical skills to follow recipes
