Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Bartending work experience required
  • Guest relations or service experience preferred
  • Food Service Sanitation certification required
  • Alcohol Service permit if state required
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to follow State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
  • Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, and understand portion sizes
  • Basic English writing skills to complete requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes and handle glassware and bottles
  • Ability to read, speak and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote a variety of menu items
  • Ability to operate a keyboard and follow point of sale procedures
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking of supplies
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner and promotes and documents drink orders
  • Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard recipes and practices prudent portion control
  • Checks guests for proper identification and acts upon guest inebriation as trained
  • Inputs orders into register at the point of sale and creates checks for guests including those served by other beverage servers
  • Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, and balances transactions
  • Locks up and stores all beverages, food and equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures the bank
  • Attends mandatory meetings and performs general cleaning tasks to meet health and safety standards
  • Keeps work area clean and organized and completes other duties as assigned by supervisor such as assisting security with disorderly guests
  • Adheres to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
