Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Bartending work experience required
- Guest relations or service experience preferred
- Food Service Sanitation certification required
- Alcohol Service permit if state required
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Ability to follow State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations
Job Qualifications
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, and understand portion sizes
- Basic English writing skills to complete requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes and handle glassware and bottles
- Ability to read, speak and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders
- Ability to remember, recite and promote a variety of menu items
- Ability to operate a keyboard and follow point of sale procedures
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
Job Duties
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking of supplies
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner and promotes and documents drink orders
- Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard recipes and practices prudent portion control
- Checks guests for proper identification and acts upon guest inebriation as trained
- Inputs orders into register at the point of sale and creates checks for guests including those served by other beverage servers
- Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, and balances transactions
- Locks up and stores all beverages, food and equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures the bank
- Attends mandatory meetings and performs general cleaning tasks to meet health and safety standards
- Keeps work area clean and organized and completes other duties as assigned by supervisor such as assisting security with disorderly guests
- Adheres to all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
