Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license for applicable state
- Acceptable motor vehicle driving record
- Experience in hotel or related field preferred
- Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
- Ability to perform trade jobs such as carpentry, painting, plumbing
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
- Ability to handle guest requests and assigned work orders
- Ability to drive a shuttle van when required
- Ability to follow safety protocols and OSHA regulations
- Strong judgment and trustworthiness
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and maintenance tasks
Job Qualifications
- Experience in a hotel or related field preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.)
- Must have valid driver's license for applicable state
- Must have acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record)
- Course certificate of one year of college or technical school or three to six months of related experience or training, or equivalent combination of study and experience
- Basic knowledge and experience in carpentry, plumbing, mechanical repair, painting and HVAC systems preferred
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and meticulousness
- ability to monitor own work to ensure quality and apply feedback to improve performance
- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to new methods and procedures
- Knowledge of safety management principles and federal and state OSHA regulations
Job Duties
- Assist with the operation, maintenance and repair of equipment
- Change out light bulbs
- perform preventive maintenance for guest rooms including vinyl repair, touch-up painting, minor furniture repair, tub caulking, tile repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms, swimming pool and hot tub
- Perform plumbing repair, laundry equipment repair, preventive maintenance on exhaust fans and supplies
- monitor energy conservation
- repair vacuum cleaners and other small equipment upon request
- Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine exact location and cause
- determine emergency status and report findings to Front Desk
- Access back of house areas of the hotel and sensitive information
- Interact with guests and colleagues, occasionally unsupervised
- Access and control sensitive hotel areas including hotel safe, master keys, guestrooms, storage/liquor room, and secured file cabinets
- Drive safely on behalf of the company for business reasons
- Maintain high level of trust and responsibility
- Represent the company with good character and exercise sound judgement
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager
