Job Requirements
- Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or military within the previous 24 months
- Maintain a maximum weight of 250 pounds
- Be under 70 years of age
- Comply with Air Methods' drug and alcohol testing policies including pre-employment, random, reasonable cause, and post-accident screening
- Able to perform essential flight duties satisfactorily
- Complete all required pre-flight and post-flight inspections
- Maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and related emergency services
- Follow all relevant Federal Aviation and company regulations
- Willingness to work 7 days on and 7 days off with 12-hour shifts
- Provide proof of required certificates and medical clearances
Job Qualifications
- Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school or equivalent education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 2500 total flight hours with 2000 hours in category
- Minimum 1000 hours PIC in category with rotor wing turbine time
- 500 hours of cross-country flight time
- 150 hours of night flight time
- 100 hours of actual or simulated instrument flying with at least 50 hours actual in category
- Commercial and instrument ratings for category and class of aircraft
- ATP rating in category preferred
- Possession of a First-Class FAA Medical certificate
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- Complete pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness by signing off Daily Flight Log
- Perform complete walk-around checks of the aircraft before and after flights
- Ensure aircraft and weather conditions meet safety standards for transporting medical crews and patients
- Comply with Federal Aviation Regulations, Aeronautical Information Manual, and General Operations Manual guidelines
- Maintain positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals, and the public
- Adhere to Air Methods policies and procedures at all times
