Job Requirements

  • Maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
  • Be under 70 years of age
  • Comply with FAA medical certification requirements
  • Have commercial and instrument ratings for category and class of aircraft
  • Hold ATP rating in category
  • Meet flight hour requirements of 2000 total hours with 1500 in category, 1000 PIC, 500 rotor wing turbine time
  • Have 200 hours cross-country flight time including 50 at night
  • Possess 100 hours unaided night as PIC or equivalent NVG experience
  • Have 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in category
  • Have associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Have recent flight experience within 24 months
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and medical teams

Job Qualifications

  • Commercial pilot certificate
  • Instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) rating in category
  • First or Second-Class FAA Medical certificate
  • Minimum 2000 total flight hours with 1500 hours in category
  • At least 1000 hours pilot-in-command in category
  • 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
  • 200 hours cross-country flight time including 50 hours at night
  • 100 hours unaided night flight as PIC or 50 unaided with 100 NVG hours
  • 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight and category
  • Associate degree or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience flying as commercial operator or military in category within last 24 months
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • Complete pre-flight inspection verifying aircraft airworthiness and sign off Daily Flight Log
  • Perform complete walk-around of aircraft before and after flights
  • Serve as final authority for aircraft operations and safety of passengers, cargo and equipment
  • Maintain familiarity with all aircraft and medical systems used in operational area
  • Ensure medical flight team is comfortable with medical interior and systems
  • Complete required documentation accurately
  • Conduct detailed flight planning with little notice to exacting standards
  • Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, projects, committees and community outreach
