Job Requirements
- Must be in physically good shape and able to lift bend and stand up to eight hours
- Must be able to balance on step stool or stepladder
- Must be able to work in a cooler at a temperature of 36 degrees for up to 30 minutes
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs
- Tolerate exposure to gasoline fumes and cleaning products
- Visual acuity to check identification
- Must be able to do basic math at the 8th grade level
- Must be able to speak, read and write English at 8th grade level and communicate with customers in English
- Class C operator certification required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- Ability to operate point-of-sale systems
- Basic math skills at eighth-grade level
- Strong communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience in inventory control and merchandising preferred
Job Duties
- Provide an enthusiastic greeting to customers upon entering the store or on the phone
- Get to know customers and use their names
- Offer fast and attentive service
- Suggest promotions and products to customers
- Thank customers and invite them back
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, floors, shelves, and food prep areas
- Sweep and maintain outdoor areas including parking lot and fuel islands
- Stock, front, and price all merchandise
- Brew coffee and stock fountain, cooler, and freezer
- Ensure proper cash, credit card, and check accountability at end of shift
- Adhere to age-restricted product sales policies
- Control inventory and prevent theft
- Check in vendors and gas deliveries
- Operate POS and other sales machines
- Attend store meetings and assist in recruitment efforts
