Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • proficiency in computer operations
  • ability to work flexible and long hours
  • effective communication skills in English
  • ability to manage cash and financial transactions
  • capability to stand for eight-hour shifts
  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for local travel
  • ability to handle guest and operational problems professionally
  • physical ability to perform duties including stooping, kneeling, crouching, and extended use of hands and fingers
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and safety standards

Job Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • any combination of education and experience equivalent to high school diploma
  • ability to read, understand, and interpret internal hotel reports and information
  • ability to communicate clearly in spoken and written English
  • sufficient math skills to calculate room revenue, average rates, occupancy percentages, and manage cash bank balances
  • thorough knowledge of front office operations, service standards, guest relations, upselling techniques, problem solving, and cost controls
  • strong communication skills
  • ability and flexibility to work long hours as required
  • strong multitasking and time management skills
  • effective judgment skills in front office operations and guest issue resolution

Job Duties

  • Represent hotel in a professional and courteous manner
  • check guests in and out in a timely and efficient manner
  • ensure reservations are taken correctly and courteously
  • be proficient in computer operating system
  • be available at all times to deal with guest issues in a professional manner
  • notify General Manager or equivalent immediately of any guest, employee, or cash concerns
  • supervise property staff as needed
  • ensure compliance of safety and security standards
  • report to the Regional Operations Manager in General Manager absence
  • be responsible for bank deposits in General Manager absence
  • identify and follow up on life/safety and inspection issues
  • notify General Manager immediately of safety and security violations
  • maintain clean and neat desk and office areas
  • handle administrative duties as assigned
  • ensure property is always clean and free of trash and debris
