Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to read, write, and speak English efficiently
  • proficiency in computer operating systems
  • availability to work flexible hours including long shifts
  • sufficient mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • ability to stand for eight-hour shifts
  • ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • valid driver’s license and proof of insurance for local travel as assigned
  • ability to work in varied indoor conditions
  • physical stamina for required tasks

Job Qualifications

  • Previous hospitality experience preferred but not required
  • ability to read, understand, interpret information found in various reports and hotel information
  • ability to read, speak, write efficiently to interact with guests and staff
  • sufficient mathematical skills to calculate room revenue, average rate, occupancy percentage, and balance a cash bank
  • thorough knowledge of Front Office operations, service standards, guest relations, and up selling techniques
  • ability to compose and express thoughts clearly and concisely
  • ability and flexibility to work long hours and as business conditions demand
  • ability to manage multiple activities and use time management in stressful environments
  • ability to make effective judgment on front office operations, staff, and solve guest and operational problems

Job Duties

  • Represent hotel in a professional and courteous manner
  • check guests in and out in a timely and efficient manner
  • ensure reservations are taken correctly and courteously
  • be proficient in computer operating system
  • be available to deal with guest issues in a professional manner
  • notify General Manager or equivalent immediately of any guest, employee, or cash concerns
  • supervise property staff as needed
  • ensure compliance of safety and security standards
  • report to the Regional Operations Manager in General Manager absence
  • be responsible for bank deposits in General Manager absence
  • identify and follow up on life/safety issues and inspection issues
  • notify General Manager or equivalent immediately of any safety and/or security violations of policy
  • leave all desk and office areas clean and neat
  • handle administrative duties as assigned
  • ensure property is always clean and free of trash and debris
