Job Requirements

  • Two to three years of experience in hospitality or customer service, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • High school or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations
  • Proficiency with telephone and computer systems
  • Ability to respond to urgent situations appropriately
  • Flexibility to complete various assigned duties
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and privacy standards

Job Qualifications

  • Two to three years of experience in hospitality or customer service, preferably in a healthcare environment
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use telephone console and computer systems proficiently
  • Demonstrated ability to manage urgent situations calmly and effectively

  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Anticipates and fulfills needs for patients, guests, physicians, and team members in person and on the telephone using a warm and friendly manner
  • Exhibits hospitality by proactively greeting incoming patients and guests
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and team members facilitating communication in family waiting rooms and patient care areas
  • Uses telephone consoles, computers, and other resources to provide accurate information regarding patient locations, meeting information, office and clinic locations
  • Answers the telephone promptly and positively
  • Facilitates wayfinding services for guests needing directions within the hospital, escorts guests when appropriate
  • Promotes good customer service by anticipating customer needs and providing accurate local information
  • Responds appropriately to urgent situations such as codes and communicates effectively to the correct leaders and resources
  • Identifies service recovery situations and provides solutions
  • Completes zone rounding for cleanliness and delivers mail, flowers, and packages to patients promptly
  • Sets up, stocks, maintains, and completes daily closing duties for assigned areas
  • Reports maintenance and housekeeping needs and tracks completion
  • Maintains accurate contact information for hospital personnel, departments, and local resources
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement programs and educational/skill-building activities
  • Performs other duties as assigned
