Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Anticipates and fulfills needs for patients, guests, physicians, and team members in person and on the telephone using a warm and friendly manner
  • Exhibits hospitality by proactively greeting incoming patients and guests and making a positive impression
  • Communicates effectively with patients, families, and team members and facilitates communication between families and the healthcare team
  • Uses a telephone console, computer, and other resources to provide accurate information about patient locations, meeting information, office and clinic locations
  • Answers the telephone promptly, positively, and helpfully
  • Facilitates wayfinding services for guests needing directions within the hospital and escorts guests to destinations when appropriate
  • Promotes good customer service, anticipates customer needs, and provides accurate information about local restaurants, hotels, shopping, and events while recommending hospital services first
  • Responds appropriately to urgent situations such as codes and communicates effectively to the correct leaders and resources
  • Identifies service recovery situations and provides solutions
  • Completes zone rounding for cleanliness
  • Receives, labels, and delivers mail, flowers, and packages to patients promptly
  • Sets up, stocks, maintains, and completes daily closing duties for assigned areas
  • Reports maintenance and housekeeping needs and tracks timely completion
  • Maintains accurate contact information for hospital personnel, departments, and local resources
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement through pilot programs, education, skill-building programs, and meetings
  • Performs other duties as assigned
