The Guthrie Theater is a premier non-profit theater organization located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, in the historic Mill District along the Mississippi River. Job Requirements
- Consistent availability to work flexible hours and days, including evenings and weekends
- Minimum of three shifts per week
- Ability to move around the facility and perform various tasks including lifting up to 30 pounds, using a step stool or ladder, bending, twisting, and standing for prolonged periods
- Strong commitment to guest service
- Experience working in a retail or similar customer-facing role
- Ability to perform cash handling and sales transactions accurately
- Knowledge of Guthrie Theater programs and policies preferred
Job Qualifications
- Demonstrated proficiency providing guest or customer service in a dynamic environment
- Strong history of attendance and punctuality
- Ability to maintain a polite and professional demeanor with guests and colleagues
- Skilled in managing multiple priorities and maintaining composure in busy or stressful situations
- Effective oral and written communication skills in English
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Ability to follow emergency procedures

- Experience working with diverse teams and individuals
Job Duties
- Make a great first impression by welcoming and engaging all guests to the Guthrie in a friendly and helpful manner as they enter the building
- Be an effective and informed brand ambassador of the Guthrie, including a working knowledge of Guthrie history, programs, wayfinding and accessibility services
- Provide exceptional service to patrons of the Guthrie and ensure that visitors have a positive experience
- Answer general questions about the Guthrie, its policies and procedures, and the neighborhood and community
- Inform customers about the Guthrie Store and merchandise, including showcasing new arrivals and best sellers
- Respond to guest questions and concerns in a prompt and courteous manner
- Monitor the conduct of guests in public spaces and follow reporting processes for any problematic incidents
