Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year guest services, general office, accounts receivable, or customer service experience
  • ability to speak and hear in English
  • ability to sit, walk, and stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift or carry 6 to 25 lbs
  • manual dexterity and fine motor skills
  • ability to work overtime and irregular hours
  • willingness to handle cash and credit transactions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year guest services, general office, accounts receivable, or customer service experience
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask and operate a switchboard or computer keyboard efficiently
  • strong organizational skills
  • basic arithmetic and billing knowledge
  • adept with hotel reservation systems
  • ability to direct and motivate associates
  • attentive to detail
  • friendly and approachable demeanor

Job Duties

  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests
  • issue room key and escort instructions discreetly
  • answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, and local information
  • keep records of room availability and guests' accounts
  • make, confirm, and cancel reservations for guests
  • compute bills, collect payments, and make change
  • post charges such as room, food, liquor, or telephone
  • date-stamp, sort, and rack incoming mail and messages
  • transmit and receive messages using telephone, fax, and switchboard
  • enforce hotel company credit policies and account for cash deposits
  • greet guests warmly and take initiative
  • assign work and ensure proper performance of employees in absence of department manager
  • make restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservations
  • handle guests' valuables securely
  • other duties as assigned
