Job Requirements

  • Must pass security clearance per company policy
  • Must be able to stand for eight hours
  • Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds and lift or carry 30 pounds
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, and reach
  • Must be able to see and hear
  • Must be able to speak and read English
  • Must display professionalism and honesty at all times
  • Must be able to work unsupervised including overnight shifts
  • Must have ability to multitask and maintain guest service orientation
  • Must be physically capable of required job functions
  • Flexible regarding work schedule

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in guest relations, accounting, sales, or related fields helpful but not mandatory
  • Knowledge of Manager on Duty functions
  • Proficiency in cash and credit card handling and balancing charges
  • Understanding of hotel safety and security measures
  • Familiarity with property layout, staff, services, rates, discounts, and operations
  • Knowledge of Frequent Stay Program
  • Experience with reservation procedures including cancellations and walk-ins
  • Strong phone etiquette and ability to provide information on local shopping, dining, entertainment, and directions
  • Ability to use property management system
  • Computer literacy
  • Exceptional communication and multitasking skills
  • Professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient courteous professional manner
  • Follow LBA standards of friendly hospitality while adhering to guidelines and procedures
  • Execute selling strategies to enhance hotel revenue
  • Act as Manager on Duty during late evening and early morning hours
  • Respond immediately to guest requests and maintain communication with management
  • Greet and register guests while maintaining guest privacy and accommodating special requests
  • Promote and sell services and amenities of the hotel
  • Offer future reservations to promote repeat business
  • Report potential sales leads from guest interactions
  • Inform housekeeping and other departments about guest needs or late check-outs
  • Validate credit cards before end of shift
  • Operate property management system to post charges, compute bills, and collect payments
  • Assist in food and beverage, cleanliness of property, and maintain professional lobby and dining areas
  • Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and practice safety standards
  • Report unusual occurrences or requests to management
  • Maintain stock and cleanliness of market area if applicable
  • Maintain certification if alcohol is served
  • Be flexible with work schedule
  • Perform additional duties as assigned including assisting other departments such as laundry and housekeeping
