Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year guest services, general office, accounts receivable or customer service experience
- Ability to speak and hear in English
- Ability to stand for long periods and walk extended distances
- Ability to lift and carry 6-25 lbs
- Ability to reach hands and arms in any direction
- Ability to work overtime and irregular hours
- Ability to use manual dexterity and motor skills continually
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of guest services, general office, accounts receivable or customer service experience
- Ability to speak clearly and listen carefully
- Strong communication skills with diverse people
- Ability to multi-task and change between activities quickly
- Experience using switchboard or computer keyboard
- Understanding of hotel credit policies
- Ability to operate office equipment including telephone and fax
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
- Professional and friendly demeanor
Job Duties
- Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests
- Issue room key and escort instructions to Bell person or directly to guest without announcing room numbers
- Answer inquiries about hotel services, registration of guests, shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions
- Keep records of room availability and guests’ accounts
- Make, confirm and cancel reservations for guests
- Compute bill, collect payment, and make change for guests
- Post charges such as room, food, liquor or telephone
- Date-stamp, sort and rack incoming mail and messages
- Transmit and receive messages using telephone, fax and switchboard
- Understand and enforce hotel company credit policies
- Account for all cash and make deposits according to policies
- Take initiative to greet guests warmly
- Take responsibility for assigned employees in manager’s absence
- Make restaurant, transportation or entertainment reservations for guests
- Deposit guests’ valuables in hotel safe
- Order complimentary flowers or champagne for special guests
- Perform other duties as assigned
