Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year guest services, general office, accounts receivable or customer service experience
  • Ability to speak and hear in English
  • Ability to stand for long periods and walk extended distances
  • Ability to lift and carry 6-25 lbs
  • Ability to reach hands and arms in any direction
  • Ability to work overtime and irregular hours
  • Ability to use manual dexterity and motor skills continually

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of guest services, general office, accounts receivable or customer service experience
  • Ability to speak clearly and listen carefully
  • Strong communication skills with diverse people
  • Ability to multi-task and change between activities quickly
  • Experience using switchboard or computer keyboard
  • Understanding of hotel credit policies
  • Ability to operate office equipment including telephone and fax
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Professional and friendly demeanor

Job Duties

  • Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests
  • Issue room key and escort instructions to Bell person or directly to guest without announcing room numbers
  • Answer inquiries about hotel services, registration of guests, shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions
  • Keep records of room availability and guests’ accounts
  • Make, confirm and cancel reservations for guests
  • Compute bill, collect payment, and make change for guests
  • Post charges such as room, food, liquor or telephone
  • Date-stamp, sort and rack incoming mail and messages
  • Transmit and receive messages using telephone, fax and switchboard
  • Understand and enforce hotel company credit policies
  • Account for all cash and make deposits according to policies
  • Take initiative to greet guests warmly
  • Take responsibility for assigned employees in manager’s absence
  • Make restaurant, transportation or entertainment reservations for guests
  • Deposit guests’ valuables in hotel safe
  • Order complimentary flowers or champagne for special guests
  • Perform other duties as assigned
