Job Requirements

  • Pass appropriate security clearance per company policy
  • ability to perform major life activities including standing, lifting up to 30 pounds, bending, learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating
  • able to push or pull 60 pounds
  • able to stand for eight hours and perform physical tasks such as bending, stretching, and reaching
  • ability to see and hear
  • speak and read English
  • display professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness
  • be flexible with work schedule including potential evenings and weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • experience in service, sales, telesales, or guest relations is helpful but not mandatory
  • strong communication skills
  • computer literate with ability to operate property management systems
  • ability to multitask and remain guest service centric
  • professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness
  • ability to speak and read English
  • additional language skills helpful
  • knowledge of hotel operations, reservations, and sales techniques

Job Duties

  • Provide excellent guest service in an efficient, courteous professional manner
  • follow LBA standards of friendly hospitality while adhering to guidelines and procedures
  • execute selling strategies to enhance hotel revenue
  • greet and register guests, provide room assignments, maintain guest privacy, and accommodate special requests when possible
  • promote and sell services and amenities of the hotel
  • promote repeat business by offering to take future reservations and providing recommendations for alternate same brand-type products
  • be aware of potential sales leads through guest interaction and report information appropriately
  • keep housekeeping and other departments informed of special requests, late check-outs, and special needs
  • check all credit cards for validity before the end of the shift
  • learn and utilize property management system (PMS)
  • ensure cash, check, and miscellaneous departments are balanced at shift end
  • assist in other areas such as food and beverage and property cleanliness
  • help maintain a clean and professional lobby and dining area
  • have thorough knowledge of emergency procedures
  • practice safety standards and report hazardous conditions
  • report unusual occurrences or requests to management
  • maintain certification if alcohol is served
  • be flexible with work schedule including evenings and weekends
  • utilize Service Recovery Log and other communication logs
  • maintain stock and cleanliness in market area
  • perform other duties as assigned
