Job Requirements
- Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, and reach
- Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds and lift and/or carry 30 pounds
- Ability to see and hear clearly
- Must be able to speak and read English
- Honest and trustworthy with ability to pass security clearance
- Must display professionalism at all times
- Flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts
- Ability to perform major life activities including learning, reading, concentrating, thinking, and communicating
- Ability to assist with folding linen and follow approved laundry procedures where applicable
- Must follow safety standards and be alert to hazardous conditions
- Must maintain certification if alcohol is served.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in service, sales, telesales, or guest relations industry is helpful but not mandatory
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient computer literacy to operate property management system
- Ability to maintain professionalism, honesty, and trustworthiness at all times
- Basic knowledge of hotel operations including reservations and frequent stay programs
- Ability to communicate in English fluently
- Additional language skills are a plus
- Demonstrated capability to assist guests with professionalism and hospitality
- Ability to learn and execute selling strategies effectively.
Job Duties
- Greet and register guests, provide room assignments, maintain guest privacy, and accommodate special requests when possible
- Promote and sell services or amenities of the hotel
- Promote repeat business by offering to take future reservations and providing recommendations for alternate same brand-type products
- Be aware of potential sales leads and contacts through guest interaction and report information to the appropriate individual
- Keep housekeeping and other departments informed of any special requests, late check-outs, and special needs areas
- Check all credit cards for validity before the end of the shift
- Learn and utilize property management system
- Ensure all cash, check and miscellaneous departments are in balance at shifts end
- Assist in other areas such as food and beverage services, cleanliness of the property wherever assistance is needed for guest satisfaction
- Help maintain a clean and professional lobby and dining area including dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning tables
- Have a thorough working knowledge of emergency procedures
- Practice safety standards at all times and be alert to hazardous conditions and report or correct any hazardous conditions immediately
- Report any unusual occurrences or requests to the manager
- Maintain certification from a responsible vendor training if alcohol is served
- Be flexible regarding work schedule, understanding hospitality is a 24/7 industry and evenings/weekends may be required
- Utilize service recovery log and other necessary communication logs from shift to shift
- Maintain stock and cleanliness in the market area
- Perform other duties as assigned, of which the associate is capable.
