Job Requirements
- Associates degree in restaurant management plus 2 years of progressively responsible experience in restaurant operations including supervision OR high school diploma or G.E.D. plus 4 years of progressively responsible experience in restaurant operations and 2 years in supervision
Job Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 21 years of age due to Virginia A.B.C. § 4.1-307
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll systems
- Computer experience including Microsoft and payroll software
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to establish priorities and adjust to changes in business conditions
- Ability to monitor adherence to service standards
- Ability to interact effectively one on one
- Present and maintain a warm and enthusiastic demeanor
- Present information clearly and concisely
- Ability to obtain and maintain current Williamsburg James City County food handler's card and TIPS certification
Job Duties
- Communicate effectively to ensure service standards are met or exceeded
- Communicate and direct staff on projects and daily assignments
- Interact with every dining room guest to evaluate level of service
- Respond to complaints in written form and work to resolve problems as directed
- Act as the manager on duty
- Interact with support departments to meet training needs
- Assist in establishing new standards, operational, and policy and procedural plans to improve department as needed
- Assist with development of department schedules
- Review payroll, weekly forecasts, cost control reports
- Assist in preparing annual budgets, marketing plan and control systems
- Assist in interviewing, hiring, counseling, and corrective action of employees
- Assist with department training
- Supervise in other restaurants as requested
