Job Requirements

  • Associates degree in restaurant management plus 2 years of progressively responsible experience in restaurant operations including supervision OR high school diploma or G.E.D. plus 4 years of progressively responsible experience in restaurant operations and 2 years in supervision
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be at least 21 years of age according to Virginia A.B.C. regulations
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain food handler's card and TIPS certification
  • Must pass background check in compliance with employment restrictions

Job Qualifications

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age due to Virginia A.B.C. sect 4.1-307
  • Demonstrated knowledge of payroll systems
  • computer experience including Microsoft and payroll software
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to establish priorities and adjust to changes in business conditions
  • Ability to monitor adherence to service standards
  • Ability to deal effectively one on one
  • Ability to present and maintain a warm and enthusiastic demeanor
  • Ability to present information in a clear, concise manner
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain current Williamsburg James City County food handler's card and TIPS certification
  • Comply with Virginia A.B.C. sect 4.1-225 employment restrictions regarding felony, moral turpitude, and drug offenses

Job Duties

  • Communicate effectively to ensure service standards are met or exceeded
  • Communicate and direct staff on projects and daily assignments
  • Interact with every dining room guest to evaluate level of service
  • Respond to complaints in written form and work to resolve problems as directed
  • Act as the manager on duty
  • Interact with support departments to meet training needs
  • Assist in establishing new standards, operational, and policy and procedural plans to improve department as needed
