Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six months previous front desk experience preferred but not required
- Must have high school level mathematical aptitude
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures
- Experience in customer service and public interaction
- Fluency in oral and written English
- Ability to read written communiques and monochrome computer screens
- Proficiency in operating computer, calculator, and telephone keyboards
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Ability to multitask and communicate effectively
- Ability to use tact in handling customer service issues
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Must be physically capable of standing 90% of the shift and performing tasks requiring bending, kneeling, occasional lifting up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to move within the hotel to assist clients
- Able to work indoors in a climate-controlled environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 6 months previous front desk experience preferred but not required
- Mathematical aptitude at high school graduate level
- Knowledge of standard cash handling procedures and computerized cash register systems
- Experience dealing directly with the public and basic customer service skills
- Fluency in oral and written English
- Ability to read written communications and computer screens
- Proficiency in using computer, calculator, and telephone for cash handling and processing
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle customer service problems tactfully and with understanding
- Highly organized and attentive to detail when multitasking
Job Duties
- Greet and complete check-in procedures for arriving guests daily using manual and computerized methods
- Facilitate guest departure (check-out) by following established procedures
- Calculate and post monies, receipts, guest accounts, and credits using accurate cash handling methods
- Answer inquiries and accept reservations in person and by telephone, using suggestive selling techniques
- Maintain good customer relations by staying informed of in-house and area functions
- Operate PBX equipment including handling incoming/outgoing calls, scheduling wake-up calls, and paging guests
- Control cash transactions at the front desk and maintain personal bank responsibilities
- Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times
