Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- minimum one year of hotel or retail customer service experience preferred
- ability to communicate fluently in English
- capability to stand frequently, bend, climb, kneel, and move about the facility
- ability to carry, lift or pull up to 50 pounds
- standing for extended periods
- provides service during mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- valid driver's license
- willingness to obtain required certifications such as ServSafe and possibly TIPS
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of previous hotel experience or retail customer service preferred
- previous extended stay industry experience preferred
- ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
- proficiency in professional verbal and written communication
- mathematical skills including basic math and budgeting concepts preferred
- problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational, and training abilities preferred
- experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
- willingness to obtain ServSafe certification
- potential requirement to obtain TIPS certification
- valid driver’s license
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all guest interactions according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards
- register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room locations
- answer phones promptly and courteously
- accurately process all cash and credit card transactions following established procedures including posting charges, completing reports, and preparing deposits
- maintain security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information
- book guest reservations, process cancellations, revisions, and updates, and upsell rooms to maximize revenue
- follow seasonal demand reservation strategies communicated by hotel management
- promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departments
- service the shoppe and bar ensuring guests receive products and service in compliance with local laws
- fulfill guest special requests and ensure proper delivery of services
- issue, control, and release guest safe-deposit boxes
- comply with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol services
- perform other duties as assigned
