Job Qualifications

  • ability to operate switchboard and basic computer systems

Job Duties

  • greet guests
  • check guests in and out with friendliness, speed and accuracy
  • maintain all paperwork as required by the shift including initialing and dating
  • handle cash accurately and balance shift report
  • operate switchboard and transfer calls
  • maintain confidentiality on and off duty
  • know room rates, locations, furnishings and physical make-up of building
  • promote membership in the franchise's membership club
  • refer guests to lodging when hotel is full
  • provide information about local attractions, restaurants and events
  • present a friendly and caring image
  • take and record reservations with accuracy and confirm as requested
  • check credit cards and guaranteed reservations for validity
  • know reservation status daily and future
  • handle guest complaints
  • know and respond to emergency procedures
  • report potential hazards and complete incident/accident reports
  • maintain lobby and office cleanliness
  • use computer systems including proper shutdown procedures
  • set up and maintain continental breakfast area
  • know location and use of ADA box
  • complete various shift reports and logs
  • perform all other duties as assigned
