Job Duties

  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members
  • Greet arriving guests and complete established check-in procedures on a daily basis
  • Facilitate guest departures by following established procedures to close guest accounts and determine future room availability
  • Regularly calculate and/or post monies, receipts, guest accounts and other forms of credit using proper cash handling methods and established procedures to present accurate charges
  • Courteously answer inquiries and accept reservations both in person and over the phone utilizing DKN's reservation guidelines
  • Accurately and professionally communicate hotel rates and information, use suggestive selling techniques, and create value for guests
  • Maintain good guest relations by staying informed of all in-house and area functions to answer questions and concerns promptly
  • Operate PBX equipment by handling incoming and outgoing calls, setting wake-up calls, and communicating with guests
  • Control cash and credit transactions at the front desk, maintaining responsibility for personal bank as per hotel policy
  • Process guest mail, messages and faxes by sorting, notifying, and distributing to guests and mailboxes
  • Contribute to maintaining department and front desk log books to enhance communication and operations
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to support overall departmental and hotel performance
  • Deliver DKN's "Home Away From Home" experience
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
