Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- one year of previous hotel experience or retail customer service preferred
- ability to speak, read, and write fluent English
- professional verbal and written communication skills
- experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
- ability to obtain ServSafe certification
- ability to obtain TIPS certification may be required
- valid driver’s license required
- frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility
- carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 50 pounds
- frequently handling objects and equipment
- standing for extended periods of time
- willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of previous hotel experience or retail customer service preferred
- experience in extended stay industry preferred
- fluent English speaking, reading, and writing skills, other languages beneficial
- professional verbal and written communication skills
- basic mathematical skills including budgeting, profit/loss concepts, and percentages preferred
- problem solving, reasoning, motivational, organizational, and training abilities preferred
- experience with Microsoft Office and Opera systems preferred
- ability to obtain ServSafe certification
- ability to obtain TIPS certification if required
- valid driver’s license
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta service in all guest and client interactions according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards
- register guests, issue room keys, and provide information on hotel services and room locations
- answer phones promptly and courteously
- accurately process all cash and credit card transactions including posting charges, completing reports, preparing deposits, and securing assigned bank
- maintain security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information
- book guest reservations for individuals and groups, process cancellations, revisions, and updates
- up-sell rooms to maximize revenue
- follow seasonal demand reservation strategy communicated by hotel management
- promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with shifts and management
- service the shoppe and pour ensuring guests receive hotel products and services
- ensure compliance with local laws related to alcoholic beverage sales
- fulfill guest special requests and deliver proper guest services
- issue and control guest safe-deposit boxes
- comply with federal, state, and local laws regarding health, safety, and alcohol services
- perform other duties as assigned
