Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Previous experience in a front desk or customer-facing role preferred
  • Knowledgeable about local area, services, attractions, and events
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple arrivals and departures
  • Familiarity with hotel systems and accurate data entry skills

  • Familiarity with hotel systems and operations
  • Ability to work well under pressure and multitask effectively

  • Flexible and reliable schedule including availability for evenings, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Review arrivals noting special requests and blocking rooms as needed
  • Check in and out hotel guests in a confident, professional and friendly manner
  • Answer all phone calls promptly and knowledgeably, ensuring complete and accurate information
  • Complete all items on appropriate shift checklist by end of shift
  • Conduct pre-assignment of hotel rooms including VIPs, repeat guests, packages, and special requests
  • Follow established key control policy
  • Ensure proper credit policies are followed
  • Submit lost and found reports for all items
  • Open, secure, and balance daily shift bank involving cash, check, and credit card transactions
  • Verify credit limit report
  • Monitor room availability throughout the day
  • Review daily hotel selling status using yield management system
  • Attend monthly department meeting
  • Communicate with other departments by telephone or radio including Reservations, Sales, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, and Valet
