Job Requirements
- High school education
- 1-2 years of experience in food service or customer service
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Knowledge of therapeutic diet orders
- Knowledge of food safety regulations
- Computer skills

Job Qualifications
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- High school education
- 1-2 years of work experience preferably in food service or customer service
- Knowledge of therapeutic diet orders
- Knowledge of food and restaurant regulations set by federal, state and local health codes and Joint Commission standards
- Computer skills and basic mathematics including handling money and cash registers
- Bilingual preferred
- Basic supervisory course recommended
- Pleasance and friendliness
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff and co-workers
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information
- Ability to adhere to and enforce policies and procedures
- Prior experience in nutrition is a plus
- Ability to multitask and handle pressure
- Ability to inventory food, supplies and menus and make adjustments
- Ability to take and record food and equipment temperatures accurately
Job Duties
- Prepare aesthetically pleasing and 100 percent accurate trays within 45 minutes of patient ordering meal
- Participate in a restaurant-style cold and hot production in preparing the highest quality food product in accordance to departmental standards
- Deliver complete and accurate trays and food requests no later than 45 minutes of placing order and collect trays no later than 1 hour after tray delivery while complying with departmental policies and procedures
- Act upon patient meal service requests either by resolving issues directly or alerting the call center or supervisor
- Contact a supervisor or diet tech to substitute items as needed
- Deliver nourishments to patient bedside and floor nourishment areas and inventory nursing station refrigerator supplies
- Record nursing station refrigerator temperatures to document food stored according to regulations
- Bill and collect payment for guest or staff orders in cash, check, or credit card and do not accept gratuities
- Adhere to hospital and departmental hygiene policies
- Inventory and restock food and equipment prior to and during meal service
- Operate equipment such as coffeemaker, toaster, microwave oven, mixer, blender
- Clean and sanitize equipment and perform cleaning duties including dish room tasks
- Assist in orientation and training new Room Service Team members and Dietetic Interns
- Monitor, collect, and record operation specific data for administrative purposes
- Perform duties of other Room Service Team members when required
- Follow all foodservice regulations and participate in sanitation and safety procedures including HACCP program
- Perform all other assigned duties as needed
