Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in cleaning or housekeeping
  • physical ability to perform cleaning tasks including standing, walking, reaching, lifting
  • ability to handle chemicals safely and use personal protective equipment
  • good communication skills
  • ability to follow safety protocols
  • availability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • willingness to participate in safety training

Job Duties

  • Clean all areas of the property's guest rooms according to standards and procedures
  • change linens and make beds
  • clean bathrooms
  • sweep and dust guest rooms
  • empty trash
  • maintain cleanliness of balconies and terraces
  • clean and dust room furnishings
  • restock guestroom amenities and literature
  • maintain linen closet in a clean, neat and orderly manner
  • assist with restocking as assigned
  • respond to guest requests related to room cleanliness, amenities, and linen to exceed guest satisfaction
  • communicate via walkie-talkie during entire shift
  • fill out daily report for cleaning assignment noting any special instructions from supervisor or front desk
  • sweep, mop, use vacuum cleaner, dust and wipe surfaces vertically and horizontally
  • work with chemicals such as bleach, bathroom cleaner, glass cleaner and floor cleaner
  • communicate with other hotel departments regarding issues needing attention
  • provide the highest quality service to customers at all times
  • wear personal protective equipment when handling chemicals or items that may contain bloodborne pathogens or sharps
  • attend and participate in department safety training
  • work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
