Job Requirements
- Ability to work full time including varied schedules with early mornings, late evenings, and up to 12-hour shifts
- ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods
- ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions including humid tropical conservatory
- ability to manage busy, noisy public spaces with high guest traffic
- ability to navigate the full garden grounds for volunteer and staff coordination
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of two years post-secondary education or bachelor’s degree
- three years related work experience

- Three years of related work experience
- high school degree or equivalent with two years of relevant post-secondary education
- or bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, human resources, museum studies, or related field
- ability to quickly learn new systems
- strong interpersonal and customer service skills
- experience managing volunteers and staff
- effective communication skills, both oral and written
- ability to work with multicultural communities
- planning and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and manage programs
- ability to provide constructive feedback and resolve conflicts
- proficiency with POS systems and technology used for guest services
Job Duties
- Manage exhibit budgets and schedules
- plan and conduct FOH staff and volunteer training
- oversee major exhibit operations like Orchid Escape and Holiday Express Train Show
- supervise visitor center daily operations and Guest Associates
- handle crowd and line management
- provide exceptional customer service in person and remotely
- troubleshoot POS and ticketing systems
- promote membership sales and donation solicitations
- coordinate plant sales for various exhibits
- support emergency procedures and incident reporting
- attend departmental staff meetings
- lead technical support and troubleshooting for POS and Salesforce
- schedule Guest Associates for public programs
- act as FOH manager for special events such as Cocktails in the Conservatory and Home Garden Tour
