Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in hotel or related field
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Proficient in Windows and company-approved software
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work flexible hours including long and light shifts
  • Physical ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Attend all required meetings and trainings
  • Maintain personal appearance and grooming standards
  • Comply with safety and operational policies
  • Ability to solve problems and maintain confidentiality
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience
  • or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
  • Supervisory experience required
  • Proficiency in Windows and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
  • Valid driver's license from applicable state
  • Ability to work long and light hours as required
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally and 10 pounds frequently
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns

Job Duties

  • Respond to all guests' requests, problems, complaints and/or accidents in an attentive, courteous and efficient manner
  • Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all Guest Services personnel according to Highgate Hotel S.O.P.'s
  • Carry a cell phone at all times
  • Prepare and conduct all Guest Services interviews and follow hiring procedures
  • Develop employee morale and ensure training of Guest Services personnel
  • Maximize room revenue and occupancy through daily review and analysis
  • Attend daily and monthly Rooms Merchandizing meetings
  • Participate in required M.O.D. program as scheduled
  • Review staff worked hours for payroll and submit to Accounting
  • Prepare employee schedules based on business forecast and budget guidelines
  • Ensure no-show revenue is maximized via accurate billing
  • Maintain purchase order and invoice accounting procedures
  • Complete timely reports on wage progress and productivity
  • Promote open communication with managers and other departments
  • Work closely with Accounting on follow-up items
  • Operate Front Office computer system including report generation
  • Monitor proper operation of the P.B.X. console
  • Ensure staff greet and welcome guests
  • Implement all Highgate Hotel policies and house rules
  • Ensure sign off of all service standards by Guest Services staff
  • Assist in revenue and occupancy forecasting
  • Manage message, package, and mail delivery
  • Maintain communication with Housekeeping, Reservations, and Credit Manager
  • Use radios efficiently and enforce proper etiquette
  • Coordinate implementation of Highgate's service philosophy
  • Ensure accurate cash handling
  • Enforce credit policies
  • Guarantee staff are attentive and courteous
  • Manage lost and found procedures
  • Maintain key control system
  • Participate in monthly team meetings
  • Focus Guest Services on service and audit scores
  • Monitor VIP guests and special requests
