Job Requirements

Job Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
- or a 2-year college degree and 3 or more years of related experience
- or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience
- Supervisory experience required
- Proficient in Windows and company-approved spreadsheets and word processing
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work long and light hours
- Capability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently

Job Duties
- Respond to guest requests, problems, complaints, and accidents in an attentive, courteous, and efficient manner
- Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline Guest Services personnel
- Carry a cell phone at all times
- Conduct guest services interviews and follow hiring procedures
- Develop employee morale and ensure training of Guest Services personnel
- Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily and analyzing rate variance
- Attend daily and monthly Rooms Merchandising meetings
- Participate in required M.O.D. program as scheduled
- Review Guest Services staff's worked hours for payroll submission
- Prepare employee schedules according to business forecasts and budget guidelines
- Ensure accurate billing of no-show revenue
- Maintain Highgate Hotel SOPs regarding purchase orders, invoicing, and checkbook accounting
- Complete Wage Progress, Productivity, and Ten Day Forecast on time
- Promote open communication with management and staff
- Collaborate with Accounting on financial follow-ups
- Operate Front Office computer systems including software maintenance and reporting
- Monitor PBX console operations
- Ensure staff greet guests per SOPs
- Implement hotel policies and house rules
- Secure signoff of all Service Standards by position
- Assist with revenue and occupancy forecasting
- Manage message, package, and mail delivery
- Maintain communication with Housekeeping, Reservations, and Credit Manager
- Use radios professionally
- Lead implementation of Highgate Hotel service philosophy
- Handle cash accurately
- Enforce credit policies
- Ensure staff are attentive, friendly, and courteous
- Manage Lost and Found procedures
- Control key systems
- Participate in monthly team meetings
- Enhance Guest Service and audit scores
- Monitor VIPs and special guest requests
